Four Generations of Honey

Ozarka Farms is a fourth generation owned and operated family business.

Our honey business was established in 1956 by my grandfather P. G. Johnson. He had kept bees since he was a young man. He owned and operated several businesses, but the honey business was his passion.

He operated 2,500 bee hives, had a honey extraction and packing business, and manufactured and sold beekeeping hives, frames, and components. He packed honey using his “Ozarka” brand. We continue to use the Ozarka brand today.

My uncle and aunt, Ron and Beverly Johnson, took over the business in 1972.

I purchased the business in 1999. At that time, we were packing honey for many private label customers and food manufacturing companies. We began manufacturing jams and jellies in 2002, and we acquired the Bekemeier’s trademark in 2008.
